update
happy Tuesday
I feel like its been a while since I updated you on what has been going on
sorry no pictures to share
but lots of fun stuff
Saturday I baked Christmas cookies with some friends
we made 5 different kinds including these and these (my new favorite Christmas tradition)
I felt sick when I left
I should not have ate that last cookie
after church on Sunday I went Christmas shopping with some friends
and then we went home and lounged for the rest of the afternoon and watched Christmas movies
I think I have fulfilled my quota of Christmas movies for the year
The Santa Clause, Polar Express, Christmas Vacation, Home Alone 2
and I have Elf on DVR waiting for me when I get home
if you have cable, check out the family channel, they are playing Christmas movies every day!
we plan on going to the Garden d’Lights festival sometime soon (meant to go last night, but way too cold out!)
yesterday was the hubby and I’s second anniversary
we celebrated by eating steak and then shopping 
what about you? made any Christmas cookies? watched any fun Christmas movies?

christmas list 2011
thank you, Leah for posting your Christmas list and getting the ball rolling
I already sent my family and husband lists
although I am pretty sure my husband is not going off of it
which is fine, I love surprises
I got an email from him saying that he was going shopping
and that I was NOT invited
the only time that this is okay
please hubs, go crazy

meal plan
Back in the swing of things after a few days back from vacation. I have some really tasty looking soups and comfort foods on the menu this week, as well as a holiday appetizer for small group on Thursday.
I feel like I am running out of recipes to try ( I know right!?) does anyone have any favorites they like to make around this season and/or something you have made recently that you loved?

Monday-Spaghetti and salad
Tuesday-Hearty Bean & Barley Stew and salad
Wednesday-Pesto Orecchiette w/ Chicken Sausage husband said this was awesome and to put it on his top 5 list!
Thursday- Pecan, Brown Sugar and Kahula Baked Brie w/ crackers (Small Group) Got lots of rave reviews for this! I used a larger wheel of Brie and next time will make sure I put in the oven earlier as it took longer to warm up. Substituted espresso for the Kahula

I am back!!
did you miss me?
I will do a whole post on our vacation soon
but in the meantime I will leave you with a little teezer
it was amazing and we did not want to leave
and I have a sweet tan to show for it
not sure what is worse
coming from 75+ weather to 36 degree temps
or having to go to work the next day?
both equally disappointing
but at least this vacation will get us through a couple more months of this weather
I am so glad we set up all our Christmas decorations before we left
nice coming home to a little Christmas cheer
now time to start my shopping!

for a very blessed life
my husband, my family
my friends, my church, grace, freedom,
creme brulee lattes, vacation, laughter,
and a warm puppy to snuggle up with on cold nights
I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!
enjoy it with the people you love
…..and maybe I will bump into you at midnight
